THIS IS BIRTH Active Birth Workshops

THIS IS BIRTH Active Birth Daisy Birthing couples workshops

The 4 hour intensive workshop is entirely labour and birth focused, and includes up to a maximum of 7 couples.

The couples workshop is designed for mum-to-be (from approx. 30 weeks pregnant) and your chosen birth partner - that can be baby's Dad, mum-to-be's mum, sister or friend of even a Doula! Depending on numbers, it may be possible for you to bring along baby’s Dad and a female birth companion who may both be attending your birth. Please let me know asap if this is something you may want to do.

The workshop covers:

  • Knowing when to move and when to relax and how birth partner can help
  • Baby's positioning and how we can help that in weeks up to birth and during labour
  • Stages of labour - what's happening when
  • 3 rules of Active Birth
  • Movement, breathing and visualisation for each stage of labour
  • Massage techniques and other tools for labour (I demo these you don't do them on each other in the class - I may need one mum volunteer for a couple of the techniques but nothing embarrassing I assure you
  • Water for labour and birth
  • Birth plans/birth environments
  • And anything else you or your partner want to ask about*!

It's a typical workshop environment, chatting through all these areas on comfy sofas and as relaxed as possible. There is an opportunity to practice some of the techniques on the day if you wish. If you prefer you can just practice the techniques in the privacy and comfort of your own home. It gives your birth partner a chance to ask all the questions they have and help them be more prepared for the birth.

Refreshments will be provided (hot drinks, juices, fresh fruit, cakes/biscuits)
